Most of the numerous Chinese folk customs have been carried on for several hundred or even one thousand years. For all the historical upheavals and geographical discrepancies, those customs remain almost the same both in form and content. This book carefully selects 100 customs including daily life habits, festival activities, customs for marriage, funeral, birth, and child-upbringing, religious and sacrificial rites, business habits, and the like. They open a window on the life of ancient Chinese people in both the concrete aspects and the spiritual ones.
