Zhang Zhou Pien Tze Huang 1 Piece

This is a Chinese patent remedy based on the ancient recipe Pien Tze Huang which was created by the Ming Dynasty royal physician, being recognized as its curative functions and revitalizing effects. It's useful for acute and chronic viral hepatitis caused by heat and toxin, blood stagnant, abscess, deep-rooted ulcer, boils and sores, swollen and edema, injuries from knocks and falls, and various inflammation.

Principal ingredients: Musk 3%, Cow-Bezoar 5%, Sanchi (Notoginseng) 85%, Snake's gall 7%.

Actions: Clearing away heat and removing toxins, cooling blood and reducing stasis, alleciating edema, relieving swelling and stopping pain.

Indications: It is indicated for upward invasion of wind-fire manifested as redness and swelling pain of the eyes, gums and throat, tinnitus, otalgia, or hypochondriac pain and jaundice as seen in internal accumulation of dampness-heat. It is applicable to acute, chronic or viral hepatitis resulting from internal heat or blood stasis, ulcer and pyogenic infections, unknown galls, injuries from falls, fractures, contusions and strains as well as all kinds of inflammations.*

Direction: crush 1 piece into 5 shares (services); an adult orally takes 1 service (0.6 grams) each time, 2 - 3 times a day.

片仔癀以一片即可退癀（消炎化痛）而得名。它原是明朝太医的秘方，后太医出家，到芗城附近的璞山寺当和尚，这秘方也因得以传到芗城，成为该寺的传家之宝。后来主持和尚还俗，在漳州开设馨苑茶庄，兼生产“僧帽牌”片仔癀。1956年纳入漳州制药厂，商标也改为“荔枝牌”。

片仔癀是用麝香、牛黄、蛇胆、田七等名贵中药精制而成的。对急性、慢性肝炎，刀、枪、骨折和烧、烫等多种创伤，脓肿、无名肿毒及一切炎症引起的疼痛、发热等，有显著疗效。外科手术后服用，能消炎止痛，防止伤口感染，加快愈合。

片仔癀是中国著名中成药，广泛应用于急慢性肝炎、耳炎、眼炎、牙龈化脓、喉咙肿痛、喉娥乳娥、口舌诸疮、烫伤灼伤、刀枪伤痛、挫伤扭伤、蜂蛇咬伤、痈疽、各种感染及一切炎症所引起的疼痛、发热等。（内服兼外敷，疗效更为显著）
